Parks Recreation and Open Space

The goal of the Parks, Recreation & Open Space Committee is to help make our neighborhood a more pleasant and pretty place to live and work. Within funding limitations, we can get more trees planted and create pocket parks where two or three people can sit in a green space to read and share a quiet moment. And, we can look around with fresh vision to create various Downtown Los Angeles open spaces where children can play, dogs can romp and people can feel good about living and working here.

Downtown gets another park!

Downtown LA’s latest park bears witness to the power of civic engagement, prompting Mayor Villaraigosa to say “How ‘bout that!” as the President of the Downtown Los Angeles Neighborhood Council explains “I always say don’t wait for the City to do something for you, get out there and do something for yourself.  Look at what we can do together.”
